In 1907, Mr. Winquist, a young maintenance engineer in Gothenburg, Sweden, was very distressed by the frequent damage of bearings, so he invented
Self-Aligning Ball Bearings and successfully founded SKF Bearings in the same year.

About SKF (China)
SKF has a long history in China. In 1916, SKF established a sales company in Shanghai, and it continued to operate until 1951.
In 1986, SKF re-launched its China business through its consignment station in Shanghai. In 1988, SKF established a sales company in Hong Kong and named it SKF China Co., Ltd. Since 1994, SKF Group began to set up factories in China one after another. In order to cope with the rapid development of the Chinese market, SKF (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was formally established in 1997 and later renamed SKF (China) Co., Ltd., which is the headquarters of SKF in China.
